Equans is looking for a Painter to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.This is a full time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Interpret and follow detailed instructions, drawings, and specifications accurately without supervision.
  • Independently set up and complete new work tasks using appropriate tools, equipment, and machinery aligned with your skill level.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe workshop and work environment at all times.
  • Operate safely off tower scaffolding, MEWPs, ladders, and step ladders, as required.
  • Carry out unsupervised maintenance, repairs, and report any defects or unusual events promptly.
  • Adapt by learning new techniques through training programs.
  • Work efficiently within the complex Engie Estate, understanding maintenance crafts interactions to improve workflows.
  • Communicate effectively via radio or PDA, adapting quickly to work pattern changes.
  • Comply fully with current Health & Safety regulations, statutory safety rules, and Engie’s codes of practice.
  • Prepare material lists to support maintenance tasks and ensure effective completion of planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
  • Record maintenance activities accurately using Maximo or similar systems.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of painting systems within the estate.
  • Proactively deal with emergent challenges and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Notify supervisors promptly about any delays or difficulties.
  • Undertake additional duties as necessary to meet contract KPIs and SLAs

Who are we looking for?

  • Required qualifications are an appropriately recognised C&G, Scotvec (SVQ3), or equivalent.
  • The maintenance painter/decorator must have a background in painting and decorating.
  • Will have a good working knowledge of painting and decorating services, including AMES taping.
  • Due to the nature of the contract, successful post holder will be required to obtain and maintain Disclosure Scotland to PVG level.
