Equans is looking for 3 x Senior Lifecycle Fund Manager’s to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The Lifecycle Fund Management team provides strategic oversight of long-term asset investment, managing lifecycle funds, validating asset replacement requirements, forecasting future expenditure, and ensuring contractual obligations are delivered efficiently and sustainably.
The role holder will oversee compliance with all contractual lifecycle obligations across the portfolio ensuring fund sufficiency is maintained through strategic planning and optimisation. Lead complex technical assessments for high-value asset interventions, validate contract compliance, and provide strategic oversight of condition survey programmes. Interface with capital projects teams on lifecycle implications and ensure project deliverables meet strategic lifecycle requirements.
This role can be based from any UK location with some additional travel
What will you deliver?
Strategic Direction & Coordination
- Define and communicate regional/sector lifecycle priorities aligned with overall portfolio strategy
- Coordinate lifecycle delivery across 8-12 PFI contracts within region/sector
- Optimise regional/sector performance balancing competing priorities and constraints
- Monitor and report on regional/sector portfolio performance to Fund Management Director
- Ensure consistent application of lifecycle standards and frameworks across region/sector
Performance Management
- Deliver contractual lifecycle obligations across 30-40 assets within region/sector
- Track portfolio performance metrics including fund sufficiency, budget accuracy, and compliance
- Ensure technical delivery protecting £200-300M in asset value
- Manage contractor relationships worth £3-5M annually within region/sector
Budget Management
- Budget responsibility for regional/sector lifecycle expenditure of £5-8M annually
- Authority to approve lifecycle interventions up to £500k per project
- Manage spend within budget achieving forecast accuracy of ±5%
- Implement cost control measures ensuring interventions remain within approved budgets
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Develop 3-5 year lifecycle plans for regional/sector portfolio aligned with overall strategy
- Lead financial planning and forecasting within strategic framework set by Director
- Monitor fund sufficiency for regional/sector portfolio ensuring adequate reserves
- Prepare and submit budget proposals and forecasts to Lifecycle Director
- Report monthly on financial performance, variances, and corrective actions
- Balance short-term operational needs with medium-term strategic objectives (3-7 years)
Strategic Contribution
- Lead on regional/sector strategy for Asset Management, Sustainability and Compliance
- Provide leadership in strategic planning and portfolio optimisation within region/sector
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation across regional/sector contracts
- Optimize regional/sector lifecycle delivery across 8-12 contracts considering varying priorities and constraints

Who are we looking for?
- Minimum 10+ years experience in asset/lifecycle management with 5+ years at management level
- Minimum 3 years experience at senior technical management level
- Proven track record managing budgets of £5M+
- Experience managing teams of 5-15 technical professionals
- Experience in PFI/PPP contracts within construction or facilities management
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget
- Deep technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, and building services engineering
- Proven ability to lead complex technical assessments for high-value interventions (£500K-£2M)
- Expert knowledge of lifecycle planning methodologies and fund sufficiency calculations
- Strong understanding of PFI/PPP contractual requirements and compliance obligations
- Experience in technical validation and quality assurance
- Proven track record managing budgets of £5-8M
- Advanced contract management and commercial negotiation skills
- Understanding of fund sufficiency calculations and lifecycle financial planning
- Experience leading and developing teams of 5-15 professionals
- Strong stakeholder management at Regional Director and Operations Manager level
- Ability to influence and drive performance across multiple contracts
- Performance management and talent development capabilities
- Change management and continuous improvement mindset
